Proposal:
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine I was unable to write. Fortunately I was busy with developing two artists art exhibition with my fellow-husband Michel Gerard at the Musee d’Hospice St. Roch in Issoudun, France. This exhibition is going to have a catalogue written by several art writers, including my essay titled Who Are We? This essay of about five pages made me feel that I should write a memoir about my life as a Russian-Jewish-immigrant-woman poet in the world that constantly changes making me more aware about myself among other things. My identity transformed in about forty five years of living in New York. Its dynamics from the anti-Soviet dissident to the post-Soviet feminist to a partner of the French artist (who is a child of the war), to the troubled person who has a long-term experience of working with the epic process of migrating refugees and Holocaust survivors. Through the understanding of trauma I metamorphosized into a psychoanalytically trained psychotherapist. I am now engaged in the current war in Ukraine supporting the international effort of protecting the independence of this unique culture and people.
