What can happen in an hour
I have two decades of experience working as an editor on novels, memoirs, nonfiction books, and poetry books, for large, small, independent, and academic presses. I am an experienced typesetter, book designer (most frequently for Ugly Duckling Presse, but also elsewhere) and print broker. I have sat on juries for numerous national fellowships and grants, and have taught creative writing at the BFA and MFA levels for 15 years. I love being a sounding board for other artists, especially in moments of doubt, hesitation, or stuckness.
I offer hour-long feedback sessions with writers and other time-based artists (on-screen unless we happen to be in the same place at the same time). These sessions are based on the one-on-one, cross-disciplinary teaching mode of the Bard MFA, where I was both a student and longtime faculty member. Sessions are sliding-scale $65-$85 per meeting-hour, which includes an initial email exchange plus 30 minutes of prep time if you are seeking feedback on a specific text or artwork.
