I am a Los Angeles-born, New York based writer and translator. My work in poetry, prose and performance considers how ideas from philosophy, psychoanalysis, political/economic theory and pop science take hold in ordinary language to influence internalized beliefs and social life, often through technologies of persuasion. Sometimes it does other things, too. I am a long-time volunteer editor at Ugly Duckling Presse and a founding member of Bushel Collective, a mixed-use rural storefront space; I recently launched a midnight pamphlet press, Dirt. In addition to my work with language/s, I study plants and herbal medicine, especially in the Catskill mountains where I primarily live, and in my ancestral homes of Greece and Crete. I have taught writing and translation in many institutions and am an active member of Pratt Institute’s faculty union, UCFT1460.

I read widely and chaotically; when I finish a book, which is rare, I try to remember to reward myself by adding it to the <<< “pile.”
